In mid-May there was still snow on the ground in the middle of Yellowstone National Park and I had the fortune to come across the grizzly bear known as "Obsidian" with her three 2.5-year-old. Photographed is two of her cubs as they walk along the edge of the woods.
With their mother, Obsidian, leading the way just ahead, two of her cubs moved cautiously along the snowy edge of the deep woods in Yellowstone. It was still mid-May, and the moisture of the winter-spring transition clung to their dark, shaggy fur and the pine needles around them.
